Thursday 19th July 2012 Day -1


Team Jan, Fran, Charlie (who is a girl) and Dave (who is not) and Alan (who is our wonderful driver).


Day -1 Edinburgh to Dornoch by car (sunny spells, some showers).  Alan driving, what a cool guy.  Lots of excitement in the back of the car (girls zone) singing along loudly to disguise the pre-JOGLE nerves.  Quick stop in Fortrose to see Simon and Rena and a visit to our old home, the Old Manse, when we were teenagers (them were the days).  Dave, Jan and Charlie managed a cheeky tour of the old homestead, visited Dad 's grave (miss him lots) and then we were off to Dornoch for the night.

Dornoch (brilliant evening sunshine !):  JFC stayed at the wonderful 2 Quail B&B (Kerensa and Michael Carr), D stayed at Kyleview B&B (Evelyn).  Both fantastic places, great welcome, lovely food, highly recommended).  Dinner at Luigis, thanks to Chris!  Highlight of the evening was realising that Hugh Grant was right behind us on the next table (the girls think he is still gorgeous), J managed in her scramble to try to pap him, when she reached for her camera phone, a little mouse fell out of her bag (girls you know what we mean) onto the floor... New script for the next Bridget Jones' Diary!

The next morning we headed off to John O'Groats in brilliant sunshine....
